As we have seen many ppl complainin that they cant make hlds server or log in into the freinds network, the reason most of the times is ure router or firewall, a firewall is to bypass but a router is a bit more complicated, thats y i decidaded to make this tutorial...
PS:U need to have a static ip adress for this- if u dont know how go here:
http://www.portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm Lets get started ...first thing is to type in the win or ms-dos promt ipconfig/all
then find ure ip and put it in IE, when it askes u the pass & username,the default is admin,admin...if not contact ure manufaturer or search for it....
next, ull have to find on the drop down list or somewhere on the page
NAT or Virtual Adress or Virtual Server...
Next The protocol is TCP and/or UDP, if u dont have tcp but have Rule Flavor it is RDR
Next u will need to foward ports>
hl/hl2 dedicated server 27015(TCP) 27015-27020(UDP)
hl/hl2 online play(if u cant already)27030-27039(TCP)
1200,27000-27015(UDP)
If u only have RDR...foward ports from 27000-27015,27015-27020,1200
on the line IP adress..its ure ip
Global IP...leave it with zeros
rule #...u chose si not already in use
