I have an ATI Radeon (not sure of the series, but it's a bit on the older side) that doesn't recognize my monitor plugged into it. All it does is run the fan when I turn my computer's power on, and fails to put any feed on the monitor (ie. monitor says "Check Signal Cable" and goes into standby). I do have a rather weak video card already installed on the computer, so I can use my computer for basic functions, but games look and run like shit, and I get a lot of horizontal tearing when I scroll quickly.
Anyone know what's wrong with my video card? Thanks in advance for any help.

1.Did you recently purchase this or already have it or received it from a friend? If you bought it just RMA for a new one.
2. Your power supply may not be enough to power it.
3. is it in the right slot :|

Got the computer as a gift from a friend over a year ago, it came with the computer so obviously the power supply is enough to run it. |

Yep. Suddenly died a couple of weeks ago. Now ATi Catalyst won't install properly, and Windows will not recognize that the thing is even plugged into the computer.
