I was torrenting files, then  for some reason, Antivirus action gets popped up (me: WTF) tells to block shit.

Well, I first tried to right click disable, didn't work, marking one marker of being fake
Then, after looking at its name, notice is was a fake (cheap bastard kept asking for to register)

Became pissed, So looked at all BS in task manager and removed it. Then, Looked at regedit and removed it from there.

Problem solved.

What Anti-virus should I go for?

i'm running KIS 8x on my main rig, and a combination of avast! antivirus with COMODO's firewall on every other computer + home server


KIS works wonderfully, i've been using it for about four years. even got my family hooked on it...

avast and comodo are the best combination i've used... a big step up from NOD antivirus (cracked) and sygate firewall. i liked nod while the crack worked, but they disabled the method i used to update my databases so i moved to a free+legal system. opera is great for keeping you off of phishing or scam sites, so with opera and those programs i have no problems with viruses.


couple that with smart browsing/downloading and you can remain relatively safe on the net

well, i would recommend just using avast!'s free antivirus, it works great and you don't have to worry about the license expiring or becoming blacklisted (like other cracked ones...)

I couldn't figure out how to fucking uninstall it when I wanted to lol

Mine never appeared on Uninstall list and it kept saying I needed administrator access to delete the folder (I dunno wtf was wrong with my windows vista at the time)

EDIT: yes ... I know how to disable that shit. Apparently it was glitched and saw that I wasn't an administrator ... when I was.
