This is a problem with my online gaming...

MY MOUSE FREAKING lag me in my games. Its actually the crss.exe process thats having high CPU usuage... so, how do you actually make the CPU usuage lower?
Note: I already tried moving the mouse a couple of times before the games launches, but the mouse disconnects often itself... >>

In XP there's an 'Advanced Settings' tab in the properties for the mouse in Device Manager. Sample rate is a common setting among mouses. Depending on the mouse and driver there may be many options.

I read a topic about someone with the same problem and he connected a wireless mouse and it was fine. I'll give you a heads up if I find anything.

Here try this, I found this on the internet with a similar problem as you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Steps:
1. Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Mouse (under Devices and Printers)
2. Buttons Tab: speed was set 1 point beyond halfway so i moved it backward to halfway (default setting may have been too fast)
3. Looked at Pointer's Tab but didn't touch anything
4. Pointer's Options Tab: Set Pointer Speed (in Motion box) is set at halfway and Enhance pointer precision box is checked; Hide pointer while typing (in Visibility box) is checked; nothing else was set or checked. Clicked Apply to Finish and closed out.

After this  continue to have a similar experience, so go back to Step 1. above and continued with the following Steps:

5. Wheel Tab: Roll the wheel one notch to scroll: The following number of lines at a time: is set to 1 (in the Vertical scrolling box); likewise, Tilt the wheel to scroll the following number of characters at a time: is set to 1. Clicked Apply to Finish and closed out.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would DL the mouse drivers with DriverMAX though just to be sure, I had the same problem , except it was with stereo, sound was lagging when I played games that took a lot of CPU usuage and the driver helped a bunch. Hope I could help.
