As many of you have noticed..

Download speeds are slow
SMF Times out when trying to connect to the database
We no longer have a ventrilo
The CS Servers randomly crash/stop working
The CS Servers are non boosted
The CS Servers lag

blah blah blah



We have been getting along with what we have, its decent, but it could be better.

The past week has gotten me thinking, and i have been thinking lots... This is what i have come up with.


The Best possible solution for CS servers, ventrilo, webserver, and anything else.. is a Dedicated Box.

Im not talking about renting one for a ridiculous amount of money, im talking about getting my own hardware and putting it into a datacenter. If i did this, i could do absolutely anything i wanted on that box...


That includes:

-Fast Webserver [no SMF errors and slow speeds]
-BOOSTED CS Servers
-Ventrilo [no lag]
-Possibly a COD4 Server
-more.. thats a suprise though


in the long run, its cheaper. after getting the box, all i would have to pay for is the monthly bandwidth/power usage. which, compared to current costs [annual costs for the above mentioned things would be... around 2500, thats with only the cs vent and web servers]


I have been researching different company's to try and find the best deal for what we need, and here is what i have come up with:

help us out. we need this to happen, i can guarantee right now that we will not be able to afford the type of webhosting we will be needing in july (that is when the current contract is up and i need to renew), i can also say for a fact that our servers ARE NOT fast enough to keep up with the boosted steam servers. i dont even think there are any boosted nonsteam servers anymore.. correct me if i am wrong.

For those of you who don't know the difference between boosted servers and our servers, it is like night and day.



Anyways, we need money. I do have some money i have been saving, but its not enough to cover the costs.

Even if you want to give 1$, THAT HELPS. It really does.


After we get this box, all that will need to be paid is the bandwidth and power usage.

About T-shirts is a good idea, but if we make them all "infuzion" labeled - people wont buy, most of the Infuzion players cannot or not willing to pay for STEAM CS 1.6. 


We must go in general, not only Infuzion labeled. Ive seen people works here - lets make it Legit business. We can make good shirts, and promote them thru something like www.spreadshirt.com     I would buy one of those for sure.... Theme of shirts could be anything >>> SKULLS, nature, Tattoes, women... COOL AND FUNNY SIGNS.

fuck man just buy a real computer for that price for MAYBE for a couple hundred more if not similar to the same... sure internet will definitely be for more, but it will be cheaper for the long term of the server AND you can use the internet for yourself. if you plan to keep this shit running longer than another year then you will definitely be investing more resourceful.

If you want to make it more exact, calculate all the long term costs, in all the alternatives, do some graphics, tabulations and shit, besides including the income and stuff like that. Once you take every factor in count, you can take a choice.

Of course, most stuff will be punctual data, since IDK how does the billing acts.

make friends with someone that works for a computer based business, or if you have a local lan/gaming center, ask the owners if they could help at all. a lot of these people run some nice boxes for some shit website that gets 2 hits a day. there's no reason to be spending so much if you can just find some friends to pay for it for you

most gaming centers do not have that high of a connection... and i can guarantee you EVEN IF i did find a center willing to give me that box and the bandwidth, there would be lots of requirements and shit they would probably wont me to link everyone to their website or advertise for them


its just not going to happen. people dont do shit for free... everyone wants to make money
