I know it's not allowed to use the flashlight in the game servers, currently. I was wondering, if its use is forbidden, why it is enabled in the game servers? I believe there will be much less fuss if the kids do not have lights to play with.

The only reason flashlights aren't allowed is because some people lag when flashlights are turned on. Out of courtesy, we ask everyone not to use them. It may not be a bad idea to just disable them server-side, but that's up to Trevor

 An interesting survey has been conducted recently. The query was: "Please name your opinion on lack of food in the rest of the world."
