i play with 1024x something resolution and my friends telling me to change it to 640x so should i change it, 640x looks like shit

I'm using 1152 x 864.
I'm running it in a window because I have dual monitors (two 19's) and I like it a lot. Only downside is that i can't see half an inch of the bottom of my game screen.
So i'm always second guessing how much time, ammo and hp i have left.
