Please do so. I had a hard time finding what mirc and gamesurge was when i was downloading irc. iam quite sure most of the people in the forums do not know what irc and mirc are.

Well if i decided to go IRC, it would be a web-based client integrated into the website (much like RIN's website..)
it looks like shoutbox will be what i will use though, if i can get one to work.

I agree with the irc.
It would defiantly be a turn off for spammers. :smoke

Both would cause a problem for administration. To many things to moderate.
If you only had one , then you'll only have to worry about spammers or people causing problems in the shoutbox/irc and forum.
Having both means that you'll have to check the IRC , forums , and shoutbox for spammers.
Irc is basically spammless because the chanserv (bot admin) bans spammers because It can detect spam.

I like IRC, even though I haven't used it in years. Even if it's web-based, IRC clients can still connect to it, right?
I think having both wouldn't be a bad thing to try. IRC is better for chatting, and the shoutbox can be mainly used for notices and hacker reporting.
