Going out sometime next week to get a new gaming rig...i was wondering if purchasing a gaming laptop would be cheaper than getting a desktop with similar specs...is there a huge difference between how a desktop runs and how a laptop runs?...thx

You'll pay a lot more for a 'gaming' laptop, plus it wont be upgradable. If you're a gamer, you want a desktop

In my experience, desktops always run faster than laptops. Faster processors, faster ram, faster hard drives, faster video cards

Like heleos sayed you be better off with a desktop. Good gaming laptop like the XPS from dell youll pay 2-5k and not really upgradable. Desktop you can upgrade anytime you want and run a lot smother and faster. Now you can get a good enought gaming comp for less than 2k. And i played cs with a laptop its annoying with that keyboard. And last but no least you can put a big ass 32 inch lcd screen like my friend got for his desktop XD.

Laptops aren't ment for gaming imo.

I've learned from experience that fact.

A 500 dollar self built Desktop will outperform a 1300 dollar store bought laptop.

but if you want a laptop for light gaming

OF UR FAMILY TOO  Shocked

An interesting survey has been conducted recently. The query was: "Please name your opinion on lack of food in the rest of the world."

The survey was a total failure, because.. in Africa, nobody knew what "food" means! .. in Europe, nobody knew what "lack" means! .. in Eastern Europe, nobody knew what "opinion" means! .. in South America, nobody knew what "please" means! .. and in the USA, nobody knew what "rest of the world" means!
